Frustrating weather systems continue to tease us each day, although the window of opportunty to leave on the 2nd or 3rd of Jan was confirmed at a meeting this morning by the race organisers. The Azores high pressure is showing signs of growing and pushing the lows further north.. sorry about that for those in Blighty. We all hope this is sustainable because it will be a blow we could do without if it fails.... Our boat was re- checked today, although more of a formality and all was ok. More importantly the bits taken home for reworking during the xmas break have slotted nicely in place on the boat. A long row in 25 degrees C with beautiful blue skies and blue seas was great. The boat rowed very well. Finally, Xmas at home was a huge bonus, totally unexpected and a real joy. It was meant to be.......
