know i am know authority on architecture, and maybe i just need to get out a bit more but our journey out to La Gomera was puncutated by a stop over in in Madrid.  I am led to believe that stanstead airport is a fine design building but does not grab my attention quite like Madrid. We had two hours there before our connecting flight.I'll be honest there were few other people there because it was late at night but the building was spectacular. It was simple clean and 2000 metres from end to end.  The floor was typically marble which was perfeclty level. the curved ceiling made of timber slats was equally impressive. i would like to come back in 20 years to see hour moderrn architecture has dated.
anyway back to rowing the atlantic.... we made it to la gomera... last night we ate local food from china
