Row Across The Pond

Before we have even gone to sea, we have come across the unexpected...I am imformed "a good seaman always expects the unexpected"! Thats fine for me so long as we continue to keep ahead of the game...Another day in port making final preparations and seeking out those potential problems.

We are now discussing the route we will take. The typical weather system for this time of year and latitude appear to be apparent (westerlies - trade winds) without which this challenge would not be possible. We do expect the winds to vary (on a micro scale) considerably during our passage and will have to be prepared to be knocked back. Currently though the winds are from the north east, which is fine as we aim to head south west for a few miles first..

This time next week we will be into our first night...mmmmmmmmm

Meanwhile the sun tan is coming on a treat and believe it or not this is all part of the conditioning.
