Who gets to sit in the sun while at the office at 11.00 a.m.? We do! It's swimwear time! Incredible that we are only several hundreds of miles away from chilly autumn. We are actually getting our tans back! So we are in a good mood, basking in the sun while gently motoring along and you know what? We deserve it after all that battering earlier this week!

Motoring does not necessarily mean that you go slow - providing there are no seas. And that is what is happening. Last night we managed to sail for less than an hour before the wind died on us. The sea now has an oily appearance - what a difference with a few days ago! We had our best day on this trip so far: 183 Nm. Also we made it back into the Western Hemisphere, although Tonga stubbornly tends to disagree: they act as if they are on the Kiwi side of the date line.

The smooth seas allow us to do a few small jobs while underway, which you cannot do when you get thrown around. It's almost like being at anchor. Apart from a whole night's sleep. But that should be happening tomorrow night, when we have reached Minerva Reef.

Cheers from the now slightly pink
