Clearing out, loading on the duty-free drinks and fuel and then we were on
our way. Bye bye NZ! Waved off by a nice group of friends, even over the
phone! We managed to dodge several showers and had a beam reach; it was not
too bad a start. Of course it always happens when dinner is on the go. So
there was our first squall which brought us a change of wind direction, from
W-NW to SW. With the wind more aft we are rolling a bit more, but other than
that we are comfortable, not in the least because we kept a rain curtain up
on the windward side. This does not only protect us from the rain, but also
keeps the cockpit kind of nicer/warmer. The moon is not up yet, so we are
still getting adjusted in the dark. More next time.

Cheers from a slightly chilly crew,
Geoff & Merel
