Ooh lovely! This morning we made it to Fakarava. We are now anchored off the village Rotoava. The first time in a flat calm anchorage since ???? Feels like forever, although some bays in the Marquesas were not too bad either.

We will be heading ashore shortly, not being withheld by the threatening clouds around us. We hope to be able to rent some bikes and visit a pearl farm. And before that, the boulangerie for some nice baguettes to bring on our picnic. Let's hope we don't end up with soaked bread!

We can only stay one night before we have to press on to Tahiti, which is another 240 miles and therefore a 1 overnight passage. Nice to break up the watch system with a whole night's sleep, wish we could have done that on the 3,000 mile trip!

Tomorrow we will be underway again, but today we will be land based.

Cheers from Geoff & Merel
