Capri, South Harbour… 

Today is August 16th.  I’m on Capri, about 15nm from Napoli, Italy. 

Exactly 3 years ago, the boat has been launched in Newport, RI, USA. 

Time is flying, indeed… 

Those three years may be measured in different directions:

— in travelled distance — Newport, Norfolk, BVI,  Caribbean Islands from the top to the bottom, Columbia, back to Caribbean Islands, all Caribbean Islands up to Antigua, Azores, UK,  Atlantic Spain, Portugal, Spain, Gibraltar, the Med,  Mallorca & Minorca, Sardinia, Napoli… 

— in learning — starting with stepping on the new boat, full of enthusiasm to go and with completed unconscious incompetence — casting the lines for Norfolk…  and gaining RYA yacht master certificate a few month ago… Still full of unconscious incompetence on a subjects… ;-) 

— in languages, I’ve still missed to learn or have started to forget — French, Spanish, Italian… Russian, English…

— etc, etc, etc… 

What is next ?  

Sailing, travelling, keep learning… 

Keep solving challenges which the life and the boat is going to through into us — the SV Eleonora and myself…  ( and I’m sure — there would be no shortage of them).

I’ll still be around in the region for a while… 

As usual,  I have not planned long enough… 

And now, have to choose — should I go South… Sicily, etc… 

Or, should I turn North — toward Elba, Corsica… before turning somewhere for the winter… 

(All suggestions are really welcomed… ;-))

But today…

My first glass — for the boat!  She has been taking a good care about us,  and I hope, she will continue to do so! 

My next glass — for all people, who made it happened, and without whose support the journey would probably has never started the first place… 

And finally,  for the Ocean and the Sea — who were kind enough to let me be there,  who have taught firm but gently…
