Long 24+ hours of the first passage this year is over — we are on anchor in Mazarron Bay…. 

Cartagena — is just around the corner, and tomorrow I would probably move to the anchorage there… 

So far — the boat has been behaving beautifully. 

There have been changes nearly in all major systems:

—- sails;

— autopilot;

— a lot of work on engine; 

— A NEW BOTTOM — cleaned, 40 litters of epoxy, antifouling…. ;-) 

— A new computer navigation… 

The boat tested me thoroughly — if I remember, what I’ve done… But seems I past the test, and the systems are working fine! 

It took us more then 24 hours to get to Mazarron bay…  Well, partially because it has been no proper wind. Actually, the wind was very light all the time… 

But I tried not to use the engine…. ( Until I stucked  In front of the ferry in the Golf of Almeria…. We were  ‘ pretending moving’, with 0.9 knots )…. 

The slow progress opened another opportunity — as the boat was taking care about moving us,  I was working on checking and commissioning different systems… 

Today appeared to be a very productive day… I managed to convinced the water maker to work…  That has been impossible to do in marina since the water is too dirty… 

I’ve been paranoid that membrane  has gone after long time with no usage…. 

But after some massage — thв watermarked woked up, and we has filled the tanks with fresh water… I’m very happy about it, since watermarked is one of the most critical peace of equipment on board… But unfortunately, it has been neglected for a while…  So, I’m very happy that the efforts to make it work again — has been quite reasonable! ;-) 

I may be biased… But seems that the boat behaves better  — accelerates easily,  moving quicker, reacting better… What the reason ?  Reconditioned sails? Work on the engine ? A cleaned bottom ?  All of the above ? 

No idea, and actually — it does not matter. 

What does matter — the first leg in 2021 is over!  The boat feels great, I’m feeling great… What else can I wish for ? ;-)

Now — rest!  It has been a long 24 hours… ;-)
