While on anchor at Horta harbor…

Check-in is done…

To say it was nice and easy --- understatement…

The most exiting moment – my first really valuable conversation in French…  with the customs… The only common language we found… if to make the assumption  I  know  French language…   I do not know  who left more exited – me, with realization that I’ve understood and answered the questions – IN FRENCH ?! -- ( hopefully, correctly), or the custom officer, with his native French language enriched with  realization of the new meaning  ‘parle francais in peu’…

The bottom line – SV Eleonora is officially in Europe.  And as a carrier of Canadian Flag  granted permission to stay there 18 month… starting to tick down today…

It is morning.  It is a lot on ‘to do list’…  Put everything  back in order…  to dry my friend gennaker… to clean floors  -- the residues of salt water is  everywhere no matter how I tried to keep it to minimum… to clean the deck…  shopping… laundry…  etc, etc, etc…

I have to fix computers… My computer played a dirty trick on me…  Rogers gives me 6G  of data roaming by astronomical price… but…  So, my ‘new 6G’ period starts on 16th

On June17th, without asking me any question, my Apple laptop updated operating system … and took all my 6G data…  The biggest blow – not the data, not the money…. It is more ‘personal’ –  do I start to loose my computer understanding and knowledge?
I remember  I treated my computer not to do that… But later, I’ve updated the OS ‘in control manner’, and did not bother to check if my restriction(s) on the automatic updates are still holding…  A small mistake with the big consequences… Silly me…

A friend of mine asked sometime ago – ‘ What are you doing on the boat  during the day? ‘    May be I will find some time to answer that at the end of today…

Till then,  have a great day,

M.
