On airplanes, at this moment, you may hear the announcement "... we start to descend for landing..."
Something similar is going here. If you look on the map -- we indeed going from the "top" of the mast towards the "ground".

We are calculating the arriving times, trying to work out the strategy to arrive in ports before the sun set. The challenge is -- Cabo De La Vela is closest, but ~ 40 miles away... We cannot be there before sun set today... And Santa Marta -- is bit too far... for tomorrow landing... and a bit too close for Monday... ( Tomorrow is Sunday, immigration is closed).

The night storm has gone. Leaving us with no wind... Sunny day, but a bit 'smoggy'...
Retrospectively, it was 'well planned' ;-) to go through the closest point to Venezuala under the cover of the storm!

We have a special guest after the storm. A big wonderful hawk or falcon landed on our arch, and had a rest and a ride with us for a while. Seeing that gorgeous bird... - so close, nearly on the shoulder as you are steering -- has been so imazing!
What he was doing away from land? No idea. With first sun light we said 'good bye' and he left...
