Though it is a lunch time on board,   it is still the morning in Montreal.

The night passed in accordance with  the Azores attitude...   One has probably heard, or experienced the  _expression_ ' Islands time... Manana...'   Which means -- everything on the island is extremely slow, etc, etc, etc...   I 'm  not going  into details, because if  you did not experienced that  then you would had no chance to understard it anyway! ;-)

Saying that... Azores are different.   Everything on the island itlself --  officials,  shops,   marinas  are as efficient as it can onlry be.  And  fast -- including the shipping  from the other islands and mainland,  and friendly...
Everything fast... except sailing itself.  The constant presence around of the Azores High,  its appearance and moves arround, .. ridges.... make the winds nearly constantly on the  light side... or  'no winds at all'...  At least during the stable summer time, as it is now...  ,  time to time the small -  or should I say  short?  -  Lows are influencing that paradise... Probably just for the purpose to compinsate statistically the 'average wind' over the season... To the same degree as the average temperature of all patients in the hospital -- is always normal...

But today -- as expected -- the winds are light,  our progress towards the St. Miguel, Dalgata -- slow but steady...  At the speed we are doing now -- our 70 nm left -- will be probably done by tomorrow dawn...  Which has been kind of expected, and good...

It is amaizing how beautiful the nights here,  with full Moon... nearly flat  Ocean, and the light breeze...
What surprised me a bit ...  how deeply I get adopted to beinig on the ocean, and to like  it... Much more then being on land, in harbour... There is nothing wrong beinig in harbour, on land.  Especially, on one which is traveller friendly as Azores..  And nevertheless... A week, and the internal feeling  'go, go, go...'  starts to  build up...   I can resist it for a while... but then... anchor up, sails up... and a passage...
And the constand questionining myself --  'Why didn't I left earlier ?! ' ....  ;-)

Days provide a plenty of time to read,  and to train yourself in different maters... Today trainng  has been -- the generator carburator cleaning up...   The treat -- a happy generator charging the batteries,   I'm typing the message, the boat is sailing... the lunch will be served shortly (  for the last one -- all I have to do is to put the cook hat on my head,  made the lunch,  and change back to skippe/crew/drifter  again... )

The nights... The evenings and nights are providing a plenty of time to think...  Slowly but surelly  -- that exercise becoming  as intertaining as  late night shows on TV, or favourite movie, or etc...

So, in short -- we are good. We are on our route and track to the starting point of the next leg of crossing... The adventure is going on...

Talk to you soon,
M.
