1930 nm,  about 264 to go, if to make the stop on F lores...  ( But the weather forecast was good yesterday to continue to Horta...  I do not know... )

My favourite time again -- the begining of the dawn ...   I  love it more and more since mooring in Newport, RI.  I noticed then how quickly thed day starts and the sun rises... then it seems that the day freezes in its run, and then the abrupt end, sunset...  I know, my feeling is biased... I know -- the Earth is rotating with the same speed...  But I  do not like the sunsets since that time too...

Yesterday passed by in  'routine' way... The boat was on  run,   we have enough wind  to maintain our 'climbing' to the NE, towards Flores latitude..  counting aroud 6 kts...

A few small adjustments with the sails,   some re-arrangment within the 'garage' area...  Reading,  fishing ( or the next attempt to do so),  cooking...  A regular, boring ( in a very good sense ), day...

It was 1600 local time, when the reminders that life may not be boring all the times rang the bells..

I spotted the metal barrel -- probably from gazoline or oil --  a  few meters on the port side.. Submerged...  passiing by...
Well,  bullets which make sounds -- do not kill, right?   Bye, barrel... And its gone...  But the thoughts 'what  if... '  were disturbing for a while...

Time to remove the fish line... the evening is coming...  Took it out... In the moring,  I found the flying fish on deck...  and when I was puttig the line in the water,  I've put the fish on the hook...  Now,   as I took the line out -- I see no  fish... Well, that was kind of expected  but the absence of the hook  and the fresh scratches on the lure -- were not...  Retrospectively, does it explain some slowdown of the boat  during the day, when I was wondering that the conditions were the same, but the boat was moving half a knot slower?  ;-)    Ok, Fish -- in our long competition  you got half a point today... ( I still have the line, the lure, the boat, and both of my hands...  So, the secord half of the point -- mine... )

Conversation with Chris confirmed that the weather should be pritty much the same through the first part of Friday,,,, And to have the wind  after -- I should be at the level of Flores latitude -- 39'21N,,, It should be barely some wind at that level -- but not below -- till Sunday...
And that wind may be enough to reach Flores...

The above defines our strategy -- we are going NE,  slowly gaining some miles.   Are we going to be on time, at right place, before the wind gone ?   The answer to that  would be at the end of the day. Why bother about it now?

For unknown reason,  I suddenly got the feeling yesterday -- the trip around the Caribbean Islands is over...

The sun has just arrived on horizon, and we are sailing into it!  Are there new adventures ?!  Who knows, we will see...

Have a great day,
M.
