Our time -- both UTC & local -- 2330
We are on the move since 1704,,,
No, the wind did not materialised. (yet) .. But after I've
checked out -- it was so difficult to sit into Horta marina and to
wait... Much easier to raise the anchor, to set the sails, and to
go...
It has not been bad to start sailing
again. We made our first 14 miles... Nearly 1/10
of planned distance to St. Miguel, Ponta Delgata....
The wind -- 8 to 10 knts -- slowly
dissappeared. Now, nearly close to midnight -- we have little wind,
( if not becalmed ) .... But we are still progressing, we are still movinig
forward...
Our goal -- St. Miguel Island, Ponta Delgata.
It will be most probably our last port on Azores, at
least during that visit.
As the boat moving -- I'm going through the pilots
books, in desperate attempt(s) to plan the route from the Azores...
Even not so much che route from the Azores but the next destination.
There are too much contstraints for now, there is too much information...
The names of the ports arer bluiring in my head, as I'm reading more and
more, calculating the distances, possibility to leave the boat in
port, prices for staying, prevailing
weather... What should be Plan A? What
should be plan B ?
Of course, 'normal people' are planning everything
ahead.. From that point -- I'm definitely not normal... The fact that nearly all
sailors were doing the same in Horta harbour -- made me feel a bit relaxed, and
better about the whole issue of the next -- after Asores -- landfall
destination... But I have a couple of days to decide anyway.... Since the small
Low -- I've mentioned in previous e-mail -- will brough some winds from the
wrong direction anyway...
Besides the planning task -- verification again that all
systems on board are working... and we are ready for the next big leg...
TIme is ticking, the total milage
accumulating, distance to Ponta Delgata -- slowly going down,
nearly full Moon -- providing wonderful scenary....
