Friday 12th June
After three days we left the Marina at 10:30am to
potter up the coast to Gladstone were we are to pickup Annabel and her daughter
Oakley. Annabel used to work on Foftein who we met in Tahiti and is
currently in Auckland. Annabel and Oakley are joining us for the next
week to help us explore the Whitsunday Islands.
Once we left Bundaberg we had to motor as very
little wind, however it is a beautiful sunny day with calm seas so rather
pleasant! By 6pm we decided to anchor in a little bay called Bustard Bay, rather
an odd name but famous as there is a little town called 1770. Another odd name?
But it makes more sense when you realise that it marks the spot where
Captain Cook first landed in Queensland.
Saturday 13th June
3am JP having trouble sleeping, so on our way again
to Gladstone... 42Nm to go so hopefully we will arrive in the marina by about
10am.
Gladstone is one of the busiest commercial harbours
in Australia, so we have will need to dodge all the shipping on our way into the
harbour.
