"Marine Life"
At last we have seen some marine activity, as we
cleared up after our dinner a small pod of Stenella dolphins came to inspect
us. They swam around us for some time and although it was getting dusk the
sea is so clear that we could see them under the water riding along the crests
of the waves. It was quite beautiful. We have
identified Sandro's sighting earlier as a Pilot Whale, all eyes are now
open hoping that we shall see more as we get closer to the
Azores.
Our progress is still good. This
morning Whisper was cruising along between 4-5kts, as 5kts is
really her average speed we have always been satisfied to make this
speed. However, with speeds of 6-7kts, sometimes 8kts, over the past
days has spoilt us. It was amusing to realise this, as Sandro and I were
tweaking sails this morning, before breakfast, endeavoring to increase our
speed. It was a worthwhile activity we are now progressing at
5-6kts!
All is well on board, just 671 miles to
go!
