"Storm Over"
Peace and relative calm has descended at
last! This morning the sea has changed from a steel coloured boiling
caldron to a royal blue simmering seascape. We have shaken out one
reef increased the headsail size and are now happily cruising along at
6-7kts. Our young (no longer wrecked) friend has fully recovered and
is happily giving Windy Bill a well earned rest, with the promise of preparing
lunch for us all. Windy Bill has been a magnificent asset over
the past few days keeping Whisper on course despite the awful conditions,
he has allowed us to keep watch, dry and safe from the safety of the
cabin.
We have 55 miles to go to the halfway mark.
We are on course for Horta but may decide to go to Flores as we get closer
to the islands.
All is well onboard. Mmmm.....I had better go, there is a delicious aroma coming from
the galley!
