"Chateaulin"

Awoke this morning to another bright sunny day. Can you believe that the Patisserie did not open today!  Noel ventured further into town and found a cafe which was open and purchased a baguette.  Not quite the same as the croissant I was expecting but very good indeed.  We were amazed to receive a visit from a Walton & Frinton Yacht Club member who had seen our burgee from his room in the hotel opposite our mooring!  Talk about a small world!

Later, we pottered on up the river with less than 1m under our keel.  The reflections in the river from the trees and shrubs were crystal clear and so very beautiful.  Chateaulin is as far as it is possible to navigate up the Aulne in a yacht, as there is both a weir and a low bridge which make it impossible to go any further, unless by canoe.  We know that our Czech friends would love it, but Noel was not so keen when I suggested it.  However, he did mention bicycles, this may be possible, so long as it is along the tow path!  We will see what tomorrow brings.

Apart from a visit to the Hypermarket and a short wander around the town (believe it or not it was too hot to go far), we have had a gentle relaxing day.  We are not alone on the quay this evening, two very old wooden fishing boats, both flying Welsh flags, have joined us for a cool quiet evening.
