"On our way - 6th November"
We departed from Madeira yesterday at 12:00 in
rough wet conditions. It had rained heavily all the previous
night. Returning the high car was interesting, the roads were
flooded with rocks everywhere, thank goodness that I only had to go to the
airport with it and a taxi brought me back. Whisper was already for
departure when I returned and we were off. One hour later I was thinking
that I should have taken the opportunity to fly home!
The boys are enjoying the wet sailing, their faces
filled with pleasure as we raced down waves at 10 knots with occasional
gusts of 36 knots. Fortunately, it has moderated now and the ride is
a little more comfortable. We cannot believe that it is still raining and we are
having to dress in full fowlies as the rain comes down and the sea continually
tries to fill the cockpit.
We are not sure if we will land at the Canaries or
carry on, no prizes for guessing what I would rather do!
