We are off and running!

Got a bright start on Sat AM to refuel in the tightest spot ( amazing maneuvering, thank you John) then we set off with great ENTHUSIASM. First task was to deploy the Whisker Pole with its new rigging. It looks fantastic and works even better. With brisk Northeast wind we were able to get on course shooting south west with a run as expected. We are off!

By mid morning we lost sight of the Canary Islands...no land now for the journey, yikes. Leslie’s advance meal preparation is paying off already. Very quick preparation of a delicious classic Cottage Pie was accomplished in spite of very rolling seas. Watches got established and in spite of various attempts at sail arrangements the Genoa with our fancy new rig works the best.
