Granada - again!
Grenada. The next day we went to
Grenada. John & I came here last year and we were
looking forward to another visit.
Having
left La Linea pretty early we stopped at the first café we could find and got
coffee and croissants. Having refueled we walked towards the “Albycin” area
the
ancient Arab and Moorish quarter of Granada. It was a picturesque maze of
streets and whitewashed houses.
Our next stop was Grenada
Cathedral only to be disappointed as they were shutting for a siesta! We were
too late to go in. Knowing Alhambra would be a
3-hour visit we set off on the short drive out of the city.
We now know that you have to book
in advance if you want any chance of getting into the palace. The palace is stunning and we could not
believe that after telling Bob & Cathy that no trip to Spain would be
complete without visiting Alhambra – then we couldn’t!
We left Grenada and headed for the tourist town of Marbella for dinner. |
