Mellieha Bay
Mellieha Bay Position: 35:58:31N 14:21:48 24th July, 2013
Mellieha Bay is VERY active. That is part of it’s attraction. We anchored on the northern side of the bay. There are large clumps of weed raised up from the main seabed of sand in this area and so the challenge was to set the anchor in the sand, NOT the weed! It
turned out that there not too many sandy patches so it did take a few circles to
find a good patch. There was just us and ..jet skis ..and para-kites ..and tripper boats ..and banana boats ..it was fun though. Everyone else was back on shore by 6pm though leaving just a few anchored boats to enjoy the sunset. One of the main reasons for our anchorage here though was for John the inspect the hull and prop system below the water line after our problems in Rhodes harbor. Everything seemed fine. |
