Menorca
Following a very early morning flight from London we arrive at Mahon to be
met by two smiling faces – Liane and Serapio!
It already feels like coming home.
(hmmm... or was that the howling wind and cold temperatures of less than
9C)
In our excitement to get to the boat we promptly forgot to load a piece of
luggage into Serapio’s car and left it on the ground at the airport car park!
At we remembered it when we reached the boat.
..and it was still there lying on the ground when Serapio hot footed back
to the airport to retrieve it!
There is NO other way to say it.
Timeless looked magnificent!
Clean, shiny and as bright a new button Timeless was immaculate.
Liane and Serapio promised us that the boat would be ‘like new’ when we
come back in the the New Year and they were true to their word.
FANTASTIC!!
Over the last few weeks Timeless has had her bottom cleaned, her topsides
washed and polished, her rigging checked and adjusted, her engine tweaked, and
even the teak was oiled where appropriate.
Oh! ..and the dingy was so white you needed sunglasses to look at it.
Just as she was delivered from Discovery.
So, if you happen to be passing this way and if you happen to have a boat
with you and if you happen to need to winter your boat whilst you pop back to
Canada, then I can’t imagine a better Marina and couple to look after you!
We’'ll stay here for a couple of weeks I expect whilst we get our sea legs
back and relearn all the boat systems again!
The weather still decidedly chilly but you can tell the low temperatures
are getting higher each day.
We use the boat heater a little less each day and there seems to be less
ice to scrap off the decking.
(..just kidding!)
Menorca is just at the early stages of waking up for the new season with
restaurants beginning to open up and car rentals getting more expensive
We even sat outside a café sipping Americanos today.
..now if only I could just remember how to turn this engine on again?
“Les, Les"
“I have a little problem here...”
