This is the Web Diary of the Yacht Tamarisk of Rye.
Tamarisk is a 36 foot (10.8m) Westerly Corsair sloop built in 1986. She is owned
by the Fenton-Jones family of Chelmondiston, near Ipswich, Suffolk in the UK.
She is moored on the River Orwell. In July 2005, the family plan to sail away
from Suffolk and head South. They'll take it one stage at a time but, if all
goes well, their aim is to complete a North Atlantic circuit via Spain, the
Canaries, the Caribbean, the Azores and home within 12 months. The core crew
comprise Eddie Fenton-Jones (7 in May 2005), Anna Fenton-Jones (9), Penny Jones
and Tim Fenton. They will be joined by friends for legs
