We have been back in Marina Taina, Papeete, for a week now.

Audrey and Didier flew back to Brussels last Sunday. It was a lovely 3 weeks with them and we miss them much. We got an email this morning to say that they arrived safely and that all is well. They are back at work. Audrey will have her next scan on Tuesday. We are all eagerly waiting the results!!!

It is very hot here and we are sweating away doing our daily chores… Mike has dismantled the watermaker. The good thing is that it works, the bad thing is that there is a leak so we had to ordered new parts from Germany to fix it. God knows when that parcel will arrive!

We have been cleaning the boat entirely and thoroughly. She looks very bright and sparkly now and is making the admiration of quite a few sailors here in the marina.

There was a party thrown by a big-ish boat on the same quay last night. They kindly invited us. It was very pleasant, delicious BBQ food. We met the people who own the boat next to us. Charles and Noelle, he is a French surgeon and she is a very beautiful Marquesian woman. We had a good time together and they invited us onboard for a glass of bubbly to finish the evening. They own a boat called “TIGRESS”. It is a funny story as it is a boat that YPI had on their listing in the seventies I think. They sold her and chartered her in those days, so Mike knows her very well. And now she is here in Tahiti lying next to us! Small world, isn’t it?

Our port side neighbours unfortunately aren’t at all friendly. They have been living on their boat for the past 7 years. He seems quite nice but she is a horrible lady. Always complaining about everything. She got upset because of the quay party last night, even though she was invited as well. We saw her storming off her boat and to go checking into a hotel because eof the noise. How sad and pathetic is that?

Very convenient to have CARREFOUR at a walking distance from the marina so grocery shopping is a doddle.

We are meeting nice people here in the marina and are enjoying a good social life.

We will be off to Moorea again soon. Not too sure if that will be tomorrow or the day after.

All is well here.

Love

Mike and Catherine
