Left Georgetown, MD, on Saturday morning and for the first time since a long while we had good winds and therefore a cracking sail to Baltimore. Clouds and sun but no rain until we got to the entrance of the Patapsco River leading up to Baltimore harbor. But then it poured down with rain!

Anyway, got a nice berth at the Harbor Marina. We were lucky as it was the last one for a boat our size. Went ashore for a tasty dinner, the last one with John and Sue who left us the following day.

Boat cleaning duties on Sunday and Monday and we were spic and span for Kay and Phil's arrival on Monday night!

We like Baltimore. The city has been redeveloped in the past few years and it is a mixture of modern and old buildings, cobbled streets, boardwalks etc. Good feel to it. The British heritage is very strong in the architecture. Houses here are built in bricks, not in wood.

Yesterday we took a train to Washington DC. Absolutely loved the city. Magnificent buildings. Huge. White stone. Very airy and loads of trees. So impressive. Totally different but so much nicer than New York in our opinion. No skyscrapers to obstruct the view. Really recommend a visit there. There is so much to see. Union train station in itself is worth a visit. We have never seen such a huge one with shops, restaurants and more in what is again a stunning building! The White House looks very tiny compared to the enormous size of the Capitol and other surrounding wonderful buildings.

Today we will move on to Annapolis which we believe is a beautiful place as well.

Forecast is 10 - 15kts of winds gusting 25. Cloudy with a chance of rain.

Will tell you more next time!

Love
