The EJ's Voyage

Hurrah the temperature is back up and we are enjoying a very pleasant 24 degres Celsius, blue sky and full sunshine. Lovely! Sitting in the cockpit with my laptop writing this blog feeling the warmth of the sun on my back. Bliss...
We left our mooring this morning and had a beautiful trip up New River to get to the boatyard where Falbala will be lifted out off the water tomorrow morning for a few days to do maintenance jobs. The river is narrow and tortuous with lots of vegetation and beautiful houses. Pretty. Also a lot of bridges and traffic, loads of 100ft (40m) plus motoryachts which makes navigation challenging! Nothing to frighten Captain Mike though!

We have been busy all week stocking the boat up with tins, dry food etc for the next few months, having various engineers on board for maintenance work; i.e. engine, generator. We took a break yesterday to meet Ed and Molly for lunch, our new friends from Annapolis, who had been down to the Keys for a few days. It was great to catch up with them and hopefully they will find time to sail with us sometime in the next months.

Life is good and hope it is for you too.

More later
