Well here we are in the Kuna Laya as per the local people want to call it or the San Blas Islands as Panama calls them.

The passage from Grand Cayman went well. 680 nm in 4 and a half days. The first 2 days were quite bumpy and a bit uncomfortable. Then we had big swells but they were longer so it became less rock'n rolling. We arrived in Isla Porvenir at 18:00 in time to anchor in daylight. Loads of shallow patches, coral reefs and yet very deep anchorage. We found a spot in 10m of water. Robyn and Peter had arrived in the morning and prepared a lovely welcome reception for us with champagne and even cooked us dinner. So lucky to have met those guys.

Yesterday morning we were very busy cleaning the boat, do the laundry etc. Unfortunately the weather is not great. Very hot but dark clouds that bring rain from time to time. We went ashore to clear at about 1 o'clock. Charming people, easy formalities.

The San Blas are a vast archipelago on Panama's Caribbean coast composed of over 340 islands. Worldwide they are unique in many ways, home to the indigenous Kuna Indians who have best preserved their culture and traditions out of all the tribes in the Americas. Photo attached. If you can, do a search on Internet to learn more about them. It is fascinating.

Last night Robyn and Peter came to us for dinner. Shrimps, tomatoes avocado mozzarella salad and risotto.

Hope you are all well.
Love
Catherine and Mike
