All ok here in Tahiti. The island landscape is beautiful. High rugged peaks. We haven’t had time to go sightseeing yet as we are too busy getting the boat back in order but we have hired a car and will do soon. We intend to stay here for 2 weeks and then sail to Moorea which is nearby and looks stunning from where we are. It is great to be able to go the supermarket and find every products like in France! It is also so nice to be attached to land again and have running water and electricity! Mike turned the airco in our cabin on. Such a luxury!!!

Papetee is not a pretty town but it doesn’t matter. It is amazing to be here. 3 years since we left the UK. Tahiti then seemed so far away and such a difficult dream to achieve and yet here we are! I am so proud of Mike for getting us here safe and sound.

Audrey and Didier will arrive on Saturday. So looking forward to see them.

Mike’s Mum move back down to Brighton/Hove has gone well. He spoke to her and she was in good form. Let’s hope she will like her new room and environment. We so wish we could have been with her to help. But the decision being so sudden it wasn’t to be.

Going out to a restaurant tonight and to watch some Polynesian dances. I’ll keep a close eye on Mike with all the pretty vahinees around….
