We have spent the last week in Newport exploring the town sailing round Dutch Harbour, doing repairs on board (failing fridge and generator), watch the Newport Bucket regatta.. Quiet but pleasant week. We also got invited to the New York Yacht Club in Newport where we are now temporary members. Great place to be. Beautiful house in massive grounds overlooking the bay.
Yesterday we sailed to Stonington. A truly charming and historic village. We were welcome by the Yacht Club and enjoyed an excellent meal. Fantastic weather too.
Today we sailed to Block Island. Had a delicious burger for lunch and we have now hired a car to explore the island. So will tell you all about it in the next blog.
No moorings available anywhere and due to expensive marinas we are becoming expert at anchoring!
Big hugs from us
Cat + Mike
