We have left Ste Anne yesterday and sailed to the Bay of Fort de France. Nice sail with occasional rain showers and strong gusts of wind. It was only a 10 miles trip so we didn’t bother putting the mainsail up and went under the jib and then the staysail. Even so, we reached 7.5kts without a problem! Because of the North Easterly wind we could not anchor in Les Trois Islets as planned and we found a nice anchorage in the Anse de L’Ane, just before Les Trois Islets but better protected from the wind. See photo attached. In the distance you will spot GULLIVER and FALBALA anchored.

It is a charming little bay with a really nice beach and friendly little bars. We had a Creole meal  in the Pignon Sur Mer washed down with a rather coarse house wine!

Same kind of weather today. We will lift the anchor up sometime this morning and sail up to Le Carbet, a little place before St Pierre where we have been told by locals that there is a good holding ground for the boat. I can’t wait to explore North Martinique as I believe it is very luscious and very different from the South.

You will have to wait and see how it was in the next report!

On both our phones, according to which Network they are switched on calls/messages are not always possible. We don’t know if it is the same when receiving messages or calls but if we haven’t replied to you, that will be the explanation: we never got it! So keep on trying!

Big sunny hug from us.
