Still in Rangiroa and enjoying it! We were due to leave today for Tahiti but there is bad weather over Tahiti and the Society Islands so we were advised to stay here another day. We didn't regret it! Yesterday was paradise. No wind in the bay, the sea was like a giant mirror, we could see the fish swimming by without putting our heads in the water. There are so many fish here, it is incredible. And so many different species, including the friendly sharks. We are used to them now!

We went snorkelling on a reef which the locals call "the aquarium". Spectacular!

We have met some fun locals, musicians and sculptor. People here are so nice and generous. We love them. Some pics attached.

So we take it easy again today. We went for lunch at the local snack bar on the water, like we have done for the past 2 days. The fish, Mahi, is melting in the mouth and so is the steak according to Mike. We then took a walk on the ocean side, coming back along the beach on the lagoon side. Coca-Cola Japan has bought a big hotel opposite to where we are anchored and are rebuilding it. Rooms on a potoon over the ocean... We visited the place. Could do for a night or two...

All good here. we could easily stay in this bay a week or two!

Love
Mike and Catherine
