Here I am again at the computer -Time is flying and now we are on the count down to arrival.
We have had  a frustrating last 5 odd days with varying winds and even a spell of motoring . However now we are west of 50 degrees West the trades have really set in  from the East ( it would be more comfortable if it comes round the North a bit as we are rolling quite a lot which makes sleeping a bit difficult but its warm and sunny) and at least with 12 to 22 kts of wind pushing us straight to that little rum filled island .
The boys are now competing for the greatest number of miles covered in their watches and we have just passed the 600 mile "to go" mark about an hour ago so  anticipation is in the air
Despite that the crew all have said at various stages  in the last few days that if we had to go on for another week or more they are all up for it and the thought of the trip ending is anticipated with reservations to a point. For me as the skipper it's quite gratifying to hear this as we must have got something right for 5 people being cramped up in a 49 boat for three weeks , doing 24 hour watches ,all on a fist time experience and want to carry on rather than MUTINY!!!! which could have meant  the skipper plank walking!!
Catherine is trying her hand again at  baking a cake ( the first was great  even if it didn't rise that much ) but this time we are having Macaroni with it Correction it's bread  so the boat will have that great aroma about it soon better than unwashed sleeping bags!
Jamie has extracted  mince from the freezer so we are on for Beefburgers tonight
Ollie saw Jamie eating a cheese and bacon rap for his breakfast and  was in raptures  with Jealousy so its a rap for his lunch
Scutch is convinced he has lost weight but we are all sceptical  about that as  he is always up for seconds Marie and Voirrey  you will have to tell us if there is the same  amount  top cuddle when he gets home . There again if he catches that monster fish he may lose a few pounds wrestling it in for hours!!!
Hoping you are all well and  enjoy your virtual trip with us
Love to all
Mike
