The EJ's Voyage

Blue sky, sun and a fair bit of wind today. It has been blowing during the night with heavy rain showers.

Our new awning has been delivered. We are very pleased with it. It makes such a difference in the temperature on deck and inside. Also, when it rains, we don’t have to rush to close the hatches anymore. The only snag is that it is a big piece of canvas for which we will have to find a storage place when not in use!

We had dinner onboard last night with Trevor and Joanne from “Malarkey”. Seafood pasta and pineapple cake. It went on until 1AM. Lots of laughs, fun evening. We probably kept our neighbours awake!

Tyres (to be used as fenders in the locks) and the 4 compulsory ropes have already been delivered by our agent so we are pretty much ready to go through the canal. A Panama Canal inspector came yesterday to inspect the boat and fill the paperwork. No hassle so far.

Mike is cleaning the dinghy right now. I have laundry to do.

All good here

Hugs

Mike and Catherine
