A blisteringly hot sun is up in the clear blue sky and everyone is quietly sitting in the shade being cooled by the 15 knot wind which is blowing across the starboard side of Allegria. Allegria is moving gently along, with a quiet rocking motion, crossing this unbelievably large expanse of blue. Being on a close reach life on board is carried on at 40 degrees which makes living quite difficult especially as this has been the case for 90% of the journey so far.

We are continuing on an ESE course to avoid an area of strong winds to the North and West of us and we have a further 350 miles to go before hopefully turning NE for the Azores.(still some 1700 miles away) No other vessel has been seen for days now, we seem to be completely alone. We have seen ships on the AIS 10 and 20 miles away but they only appear on the screen so who knows if they actually exist!!
