If I'm not tempting fate it looks like we will have a weather window this week. Most likely leave here on Thursday although there is a possibility that we may be able to leave on Wednesday. There is yet another front coming over with strong NW winds but it should calm quickly after that to enable a reasonable crossing of the Gulf Stream. It's the Gulf Stream which is such a limiting factor as it flows northwards so strongly that with the wrong wind and weather it makes for exceedingly rough seas.

We are finding life here rather boring now as we are so isolated, out in the boonies as someone said. It is lovely country with huge access for water sports in warm weather. We seem to have been lucky with the weather since we arrived. Although there was frost at night when we arrived, we have not had any since. The days have been warm and sunny, clear blue sky from dawn to dusk and hence it is always cold at night, usually low 40s F. There has been no rain at all for the 3 weeks we have been here.

So we are keeping our fingers crossed that we will be on our way. If not it looks like winter in the UK. Our weather guru actually wrote 'the pattern is such, in late fall, waiting for a better window may not be beneficial at all'
