A very pleasent 2 days

We are back on board Allegria after 2 nights in
Charlottesville, which provided a pleasant and much needed break from worrying
about the weather. We explored the historic downtown area, which was really very
quiet. The whole town is very much dominated by the University of Virginia. A
drive along the Blue Ridge Parkway was very impressive with wonderful scenery
but the day was cloudy and as we felt we had not seen it at its best we repeated
some of it on Thursday morning because it was an absolutely glorious day with
cloudless blue sky.
We then made our way to Pippin Hill Winery for a
glass and some lunch. Sitting on their terrace in the sunshine (70 deg F) was
glorious and the highlight of our trip. A 3 hour drive got us back to Allegria
to start worrying about the weather again. Another sunny day today
though.
Looks like we have another week to wait for
anything suitable.
