After a very comfortable night in the marina at Almerimar we departed under motor planning for a 45NM leg to Marina del Este. We encountered heavy westerlies on the nose and very uncomfortable swell, so we opted for a berth at Montril marina, a leg of 37NM. We berthed at Montril 14:30, SB side to the pontoon. Very well protected from the prevailing westerlies.
An old marina in need of a bit of work but very helpful staff and very well priced. Good power supply and a family run taverna in the marina. Quite industrial with boats racked up everywhere.
After checking we walked to the town for provisions, returning for a GnT and then to the local taverna for dinner. Very helpful staff. Noted a lot of kids in very small sail boats returning to port, hauling their boats out, hosing them down, removing the sail and placing the boats in the storage shed. Very impressive.
