The team had a swim. Then, after putting on a load of washing and making water, we went ashore for breakfast, provisions, and then to the bus stop to drop off Ella, the bus departing at 13:45 for Olbia Airport for her return to the UK.  Great that she could come over for a couple days and spend time with her mother. Good company and a good hand on the boat. Handy to have a paramedic on board! Returned to boat, weighed anchor at 3pm and motored sailed our way up to the Maddalena Islands, a relatively short run from Porto Cero. We came into Porto Lungo with the intent to hang off one of the 25 or so available bouys. First tie up we were hunted by the boatman who said the bouys in that area were reserved for restaurant guests. I said we planned to come for dinner, he advised it was only open for lunch! This is the middle of the tourist season! So we headed over to several bouys near the hotel complex. Ours was the only boat. Again, got hunted away, no guest booking or whatever. So we ended up laying the anchor nearby at 7pm. I saw opportunity, there were 25 or so bouys unused. Why would you not offer them for €50 to moor off then for the night?
Catherine and Matt had a swim. On their return I made a round of Aperol Spritz before we took the dinghy to shore for dinner.
Return before 10pm for an early night. Matt in the main cabin now Ella had departed, me in my preferred blow up mattress on the deck.
