John went for a swim whilst I serviced the Tuna trolling fishing rod. Prepared for 11:30 departure to the islands off the NW end of Corfu. Under motor, motor sail, some sail only, motor
sail in 12 kn S to SW winds. Laid anchor in Othoni bay. We took the dinghy ashore and walked a few hundred metres to a new small marina complex, checked with the Port authority representative and he advised the depth was 4 metres and only Euro 40 for a night.
We made the decision to return to Westralia and motor around to the marina and berth alongside, given the annoying swell in the bay. That evening we walked back to a taverna at Orthoni Bay, Antonis. Met the female owner, an American Greek lady, Vasilica. She
and her husband come out from Boston in the States each season, had redeveloped the Taverna and work the season with their daughter. The adjoining ladies shop is run by her mother in law, also Vasilica. The husband is involved in construction and had been
preparing the foreshore for the tourist season, clearly noted and great to see the pride taken in making the place very neat and tidy. At this time of the year a quiet and peaceful location, soon to change to mayhem in the comining weeks. At anchor, Othoni Bay Motored around to near by marina Local home vegy garden
