0830hrs We took the dinghy into Cala Delle  Cannelle and walked into Porto Giglio and then up the road to Aranella for a coffee. We then tackled the steep walking trail up to Giglio Castella, the old walled city where the residents of Isola Giglio would retreat too when pirates invaded. After lunch there we returned via bus to Campese in error, as we intended to go to Porto Giglio. We negotiate a water taxi back to Cala Cannelle however, after being told to wait for 5 minutes, we gave up after 20 minutes and caught a bus back to Giglio Castella and from there a bus to Giglio Porto and then a taxi back to the dinghy at Cala Cannelle. A good day overall having a look around the mountainous island.
