Ran the genset first thing, battery charging, put a load through the washing machine, run water maker. Departed at
9:40 for Chersonisos Palaiokastritsas, NW Corfu. Noted fuel in bilge. This has been a problem over the last couple of years every time the port fuel tank was topped up. Removed panels below sole and checked port fuel tank. Noted leak through crack near fitting
at the top of the port fuel tank. Finally have found the source of the leak. I have the correct product on board so will run the tank down a bit and fix. After anchoring at Palaiokastritas I kept the engine running and transferred fuel from the port to the
starboard fuel tank, to reduce fuel level. Then removed fitting, which in fact is redundant, cleaned the area around the crack with acetone and contact spray, then applied 3M Scotch-Weld Epoxy Adhesive DP100 Plus, which John had delivered when he came this
year. Job done, we went ashore in the dinghy for lunch and for supplies at the supermarket. I got several lots of soap powder and washing liquid. Returned to the boat and used the soap to clean up spilt diesel below the sole and to disperse the diesel in the
bilge. We then took the dinghy to check the blue eye, a water feature created by the sun shining through a submersed cave. We went for a swim and then had drinks and dinner aboard. Another superb meal prepared by Siriporn. Crack in raised ring mounting for a now redundant fitting (formally the fule tank gauge which was relocated some years ago). Reduced tank level by transferring fuel into starboard tank. Removed steel plug, cleaned all around cracked ring with acetone and
contact spray. Sealed crack and reinstalled plug with 3M Scotch-Weld Epoxy DP 100 Plus adhesive. Chersonisos Palaiokastritsas The Blue eye, from within the cave Siriporn has a swim
