Weighed anchor and departed Porto Carallo 9:00am after setting a 53NM course for Cala Gonone. Variable winds, motor sail. We laid anchor at 16:30 south of small marina off a beach popular with many hire ribs. 

Went for a long swim to shore and back, stern shower then a GnT. Chilled out before heading into the marina. A substantial elevated local town with many tavernas. We had a drink at a roof top bar and met with Suzie and Mike, friends of Catherine's who were touring Sardinia. We then went for dinner at a nearby taverna. I tried the fish soup which was full of mussels, clams, prawns and fish pieces. Not what I expected, more a mixed seafood. Susie and Mike were good company, they left after dinner whilst we returned to the marina and waited for Catherine's daughter, Ella,  to arrive, via a driver, from Olbia airport, having come in from the UK where she works as a paramedic. Ella arrived around 11:30pm. We made our way back to Westralia and organised berths, I slept on the deck.

It was an uncomfortable night with variable strong winds moving the boat around the anchor position.
