Yesterday, after a dip in the crystal clear waters to cool off and then a rinse at the stern we had an aperol spritz then took the dinghy in and had a late lunch/early dinner ashore. Lots of visitors to the island with regular ferries. We had an early night given the long leg today to Sardinia.

This morning we had another dip in the water, then ashore for lunch.

We weighed anchor and set a course for the south east tip of Sardinia, 141nm, departing at 1:30pm. Minimal swell, light winds 30° to 60° to the SB, motor 1,800 rpm, Gori prop in overdrive has us making 8.5 to plus 9knts.

The boom traveller rope broke about 2pm, so secured the boom at midpoint and got to work to replace the rope. A bit involved, firstly remove the teak cover from the rope guide position on the deck, then remove ceiling panels in the stern cabin to access the traveller rope winch, then mouse the replacement rope through the winch and along the channel leading to the boom traveller, then splice the rope ends, tension the rope, glue the teak panel back in place, seal the panel perimeter with black silastic, refit the ceiling panels in the stern cabin. Job done, killed 5 hours.
