Julie and Mick arrived at the boat mid morning 12 August, from Denver. 9am today we departed Palma for a 72nm leg to Formentera, just south of Ibiza. Great to have them back on board. From the time Matt left until Julie and Mick arrived, I utilised the time to do a myriad of detailed cleaning from bow to stern, including below sole bilge areas, and conducted a range of maintenance tasks. In addition to the Jefa autopilot drive replacement a new SB Volvo throttle control was fitted and programmed, at a ludicrously expensive cost. I disassembled the port Volvo control,  cleaned, lubricated and refitted as it was almost impossible to move. The music amplifier had failed. I managed to order a Fusion Apollo amp and Fusion RA670 head unit, delivered in 2 days by the excellent Nautic chandler, which I wired in and fitted in a better location in respect of corrosion mitigation and ventilation. I replaced the boom traveller rope with new 10mm Dyneema. I reconciled and catalogued all the spare parts throughout the boat by box number, content and location. Every roofing panel and every timber panel was wiped and cleaned. In the cool of the evening, 11 August, I hosed the topsides and then cleaned with boat polish. Not often I have the time available to undertake all these tasks. The heat and humidity had me drinking 2 litres of water a day.

After clearing Mallorca we recommissioned the Raymarine auto pilot, going through the sequence listed in the commissioning wizard in Settings on the Raymarine autopilot helm control. Good to have the autopilot back working. Very light following winds has us under motor.
