Winds a bit lighter than yesterday, about 23 knots, which makes for a slower pace and a bit of sail flap caused by the rolling swell. But we are still sailing, around 6 knots. Genoa poled out on port side, and main and mizzen on preventers on starboard. All sail out! And it looks like much the same through tonight, though the wind is veering a little so we are likely to have to switch the pole to starboard soon and either gybe or douse the main. Been on passage now for about 26 hours and covered about 170 miles, so doing ok. Sun shines, no squalls, lazy sailing. The later part of the passage will be quite different but the next 2 or 3 days look good forecast. |
