We hired a car on the 18th for a couple of days to
visit the Cameron Highlands--about a 3 hour pleasant drive from here, staying
overnight up in the mountains.
Oh, the cool air---under 20 degrees rather than the
over 30 we have on the coast---very refreshing. Visited a couple of tea
plantations---interesting--and soaked up the misty atmosphere and magnificent
forested mountain views.
On the way up we visited Ipoh, the local state
capital--some lovely buildings from the days of the Empire!
And basically behaved like tourists.
Car hire price ok--but petrol at 35 pence a litre
will make you all green!!
