An uneventful passage so far--but a lack of
wind.
We managed to sail for about 10 hours yesterday
evening and through the night--just enough wind to sail by--but around 0400 the
wind died again and we've been motoring ever since on a flat sea and under a hot
sun. Plenty of time for reading and relaxing!
Expect to arrive Raratonga tomorrow morning
sometime--we'll need some more diesel, given the amount of motoring I've done
this passage--can't complain however--this is the first passage we've had in the
Pacific which lacked wind.
Other boats seem to have gigger problems--Bionic
returning to French Polynesia with a broken camshaft--so no engine and no
wind--and Chsalonina having big battery problems--all being discussed on the
daily SSB net.
So all well--though I wish we could switch off the
engine and get some calm quiet sailing!
