A long gap in the blog--reflecting a long stay in
St Lucia!!
Alan and Nigel left us on 18 December to fly back
to chilly UK. Michael also returned to the UK for Christmas, arriving back in St
Lucia on the 29th. Ger and Michele toughed it out on the boat--eating, drinking
and swimming!! Christmas on the beach. And rejoined by Michael it was New Year
on the beach!!
By 2 January it was time to see if we could still
remember how to sail--so we left Rodney Bay and spent a night moored in Marigot
Bay followed by 3 glorious days moored between the Pitons in the south of the
island--spectacular views etc and difficult to imagine a more awesome anchorage.
A bit of snorkelling, dinghy ashore for walks/food/beach/etc and the rest just
chilling on the boat.
Back to Rodney Bay on 6th--to let Michele leave on
8th--and Ger and I plan to sail to Martinique on 9th to start our real Caribbean
odyssey. Whoopee!!
