We arrived in Cartagena on Monday around
lunchtime--a nice sail over the last 50 miles with a good wind behind and a
modest swell.
And we parked up in the Club Nautico marina--it's
undergoing rebuilding, so far from posh, but secure and easy to get into town
from.
Cartagena is a lovely city--much of it modern and
clean--and the old walled city is a $2 taxi ride away--5 minutes. It's
fascinating--well preserved, lots of good restaurants, small shops, tree lined
squares withg pavement cafe's--and all at reasonable prices.
We spent Xmas at the Hilton hotel--it has lots of
terraces and 3 swimming pools, so we spent the day by the pool, had lunch etc. A
bit different and no turkey!!
We certainly won't be leaving here until well after
New Year.
