Spent a comfortable few days in Preveza and met a
nice New Zealend couple who also have a' Lagoon 440 'so a couple of hours
were spent over the pros and cons of a 'Lagoon', thankfully we were in agreement
to more of the positive sides.
Went ashore in the dinghy to have a drink and watch
the sun go down.
Monday Morning 9th May
Up early, sea calm and light north easterly winds
blowing which are quite cold, the anchor came up without any problems although
Mark noticed that one of the bolts has disappeared from the bow roller! Mark has
a couple of spare bolts so will put them in at the next anchorage.
Cleared the channel and put the sails up.We had a
good sail for a couple of hours and then the wind died so on with the
motors.
On approaching Parga the winds changed to
southerlies and as the bay was open to the south we decided to change course and
head for somewhere that we knew quite well, Lakka Bay. Here we knew that we
would be safe from whatever the weather threw at us and we could have a nice few
days or more sorting somethings out on the boat.
The wind picked up quite rapidly and we were able
to sail albeit not smoothly for about one hour, then the wind changed yet again
and we were hit with wind on the nose and a quatering sea.So we put the sails
away and motored the last few miles to our destination of Lakka
Bay!.
